Here’s what some of our trainees thought of the April course:

Rob Weir on Streetlife

1Have to say after attending the open meeting the other week of Leyland Festival Radio at St. Ambrose Church and doing the training this weekend run by Brian, it’s exciting times for Farington, Leyland and the surrounding area .

You don’t have to have any experience in radio, training is given or if you don’t fancy being in front of the mic there are plenty of things to do behind the mic.  I met a friendly group of people who were really supportive to each other, the training that Brian delivered was informative, fun and really easy to follow, time just flew.

Leyland Festival Radio is for the community run by the community, everyone has something to offer no matter who you are or what your background is. It’s a great chance to meet people, to do something you may never have thought of doing before and also getting involved with your community.

Spent a fantastic day of training for volunteers for Leyland Festival Radio – very exciting to think of what might be in terms of community radio in Leyland. Thoroughly recommend it if you get the chance.

  1. As a seasoned online podcaster I wish I’d been aware of this before this morning. I’m part of the festival performing with dance talent at 2.15 on the main stage at Worsen. If you have any slots unfilled feel free to email. I’m available for my online work on http://www.mixcloud.com/cliffy001 and also have a you tube channel for my 30+ dance crew on you tube search for “Never 2 Old”. I’ve had several years experience also with hospital radio in Portsmouth and Luton for CV credentials and held a club night in Manchester (albeit 10 years hence) called exodus; playing at the Sunday superbly sundissentual also.
